New drug targets tough bone cancer in young patients

Summary

This study tests a drug called DS-8201a in people aged 12 to 39 with a type of bone cancer (osteosarcoma) that has come back and has a specific marker (HER2+). The drug combines an antibody that seeks out HER2+ cells with a chemotherapy agent to kill them. The goal is to see if it can stop the cancer from growing for at least 4 months. The trial is currently suspended.
