First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at how well people with narcolepsy or hypersomnia can drive while taking modafinil, a medication that promotes wakefulness. Twenty-seven licensed drivers who drove over 5,000 km per year took part. Researchers measured sleepiness and driving performance using a simulator to see if the drug reduces crash risk.
