NCT ID NCT06569862

First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking off surgical bandages on the first day after abdominal surgery is as safe as keeping them on for about a week. About 1,288 adults having planned abdominal surgery will be randomly assigned to have their dressing removed on day 1 or day 6. The main goal is to see if early removal increases the rate of wound infections within 30 days.
