Earlier drain removal may boost breast reconstruction outcomes

NCT ID NCT07237828

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether removing drainage tubes sooner after a newer type of nipple-sparing mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction can help patients heal better and feel more satisfied. About 379 women aged 18-70 with breast cancer or those having preventive mastectomy will take part. The goal is to see if earlier drain removal reduces complications, shortens hospital stays, and improves cosmetic results without compromising safety.
