First seen Nov 25, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests a device called DragonFly that repairs a leaky mitral valve without open-heart surgery. It is for people with moderate-to-severe or severe mitral regurgitation who are at high risk for surgery or still have symptoms after medical treatment. The device is inserted through a vein in the leg and clips the valve to reduce leakage. Researchers will check if the valve stays fixed and if patients avoid death or heart failure hospitalization for one year.
