First seen Nov 25, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests the DragonFly system, a device threaded through a vein to repair a leaky mitral valve without open-heart surgery. It enrolls 168 people with moderate-to-severe or severe mitral regurgitation who are too high-risk for surgery or still have symptoms after medical treatment. The goal is to see if the device safely reduces valve leakage and improves outcomes like survival and fewer hospitalizations for heart failure.
