Experimental ointment aims to regrow hair in autoimmune baldness

NCT ID NCT03651752

Summary

This study tested a topical ointment called DPCP to see if it could help regrow hair in adults with extensive alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition causing hair loss. Participants applied the ointment to their scalp twice a week for 18 weeks. The main goal was to measure hair regrowth and check the treatment's safety, but the study was terminated early after enrolling only 4 people.
