NCT ID NCT04659850
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at how advanced glycation end products (AGEs), which form when protein and sugar are heated together in processed foods, affect metabolism and memory. Twenty-four healthy, sedentary adults (young and older) drank milkshakes with high or low AGEs and fat. Researchers measured blood markers and cognitive performance to see if AGEs have separate effects from fat. The goal was to understand how typical processed food ingredients might influence health.
