Can book reading and recasting help kids with language disorder?

NCT ID NCT05099328

First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at two ways to help children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) improve their language skills: recasting (correcting a child's sentence) and book reading. Researchers tested these methods under ideal (controlled) and typical (real-world) conditions with 137 children aged 4-9. The goal was to see how well parents and staff could deliver the therapy and how it affected the children's language production and understanding.
