Old alcoholism drug repurposed in fight against tough cancers

NCT ID NCT05210374

Summary

This study is testing the safety of a new combination of drugs for people with sarcomas (a type of cancer) that have come back or didn't respond to standard treatment. Researchers are adding disulfiram (a drug used for decades to treat alcoholism) and a copper supplement to a common chemotherapy drug called liposomal doxorubicin. The goal is to see if this combination is safe and if it makes the chemotherapy work better against the cancer.
