Laser gum therapy shows promise in small yemeni study

NCT ID NCT07013162

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a diode laser to standard deep-cleaning treatment helps people with gum disease (periodontitis). Twenty-one adults in Yemen received the combined treatment, and researchers measured gum health and immune markers in gum fluid before, one month, and three months after treatment. The goal was to see if the laser improves healing and reduces inflammation better than cleaning alone.
