First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether an oral drug called Dimolegin is as safe and effective as standard heparin injections (Clexane) for preventing dangerous blood clots after hip or knee replacement. 215 adults undergoing elective joint replacement took either the pill or the injection. The study measured how many people developed blood clots, had bleeding complications, or died from any cause. Results will help determine if a simple pill can replace daily shots for clot prevention after major joint surgery.
