Dim lights, better births? study tests simple change for moms in labor
NCT ID NCT07310602
First seen Jan 07, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether having dim light (50-80 lux) in the delivery room can help reduce pain and anxiety during labor. 120 pregnant women in active labor were randomly assigned to either a dimly lit room or standard lighting. Researchers measured pain and anxiety levels at different times, along with labor progress and newborn outcomes. The goal is to see if a simple change in the birth environment can make childbirth more comfortable.
