Texting away cancer: digital nudge aims to boost HPV shots in nigeria

NCT ID NCT07498075

First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether online tools like chatbots, games, and videos can help Nigerian parents decide to vaccinate their daughters against HPV, a virus that can cause cervical cancer. About 3,340 parents of unvaccinated girls aged 9-14 will be randomly assigned to see different types of digital content. Researchers will measure how much the parents intend to vaccinate their daughters right after and one week later, and will check if they actually get the vaccine after 6 months.
