First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether a custom 3D-printed surgical guide helps dentists perform crown lengthening more accurately than the traditional method for people with a gummy smile. 24 adults with a specific type of gummy smile were randomly assigned to either the digital guide or standard surgery. The main goal was to see how much tooth was exposed after 3 months, and they also measured surgery time, pain, and satisfaction.
