Escape room game boosts nursing Students' thinking, not test scores
NCT ID NCT07204899
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether a digital escape room game could help nursing students learn how to manage hypovolemic shock, a life-threatening condition. 55 third-year nursing students were split into two groups: one played the game, the other had a traditional lecture. While the game didn't improve test scores, students who played reported more enjoyment, motivation, and better critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The game also helped them practice making quick decisions in a safe, realistic setting.
