Praise and gamification boost Kids' food tracking in small study

NCT ID NCT06193967

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding praise from parents and game-like features (points, levels, a virtual pet) to a digital food diary helps children ages 8-12 track their eating habits. Nineteen families participated for 4 weeks. The goal was to see if these positive reinforcement strategies improve how often and how accurately kids log their food.
