First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This completed study looked at whether natural plant estrogens (phytoestrogens) in food might be a risk factor for lupus flares. Researchers measured phytoestrogen levels in blood and urine of 63 premenopausal women with active lupus, other autoimmune diseases, or healthy controls. The goal was to see if these dietary compounds relate to disease activity.
