Can your diet boost cancer treatment? new study investigates gut health link

NCT ID NCT06466434

Summary

This study is testing whether adding specific prebiotic foods to the diet can improve gut bacteria and help people with advanced melanoma respond better to their first-line immunotherapy treatment. Researchers will enroll 75 adults starting immunotherapy and provide them with a special diet for 12 weeks, followed by a maintenance period. The main goal is to see if the diet increases certain beneficial gut bacteria and improves treatment outcomes like tumor response and survival.
