Scientists probe link between inflammatory foods and gum disease in obese patients
NCT ID NCT07287553
Summary
This study aims to understand how a person's diet influences their risk for gum disease when they have obesity. Researchers will enroll 200 obese adults and analyze their diets to calculate an 'inflammatory score,' then check their gum health and measure various inflammation markers in blood and fluid samples. The goal is to see if people eating more pro-inflammatory foods have worse gum health, which could inform future dietary advice.
