Ultrasound of breathing muscle may spot lung trouble early in teens with chest deformities

NCT ID NCT06392984

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looked at 61 teenagers with pectus deformities (sunken or protruding chest) to see if measuring the thickness of their diaphragm with ultrasound could predict breathing problems before symptoms appear. Participants had their diaphragm measured and took breathing tests. The goal was to find an early warning sign for lung issues in these teens.
