Ultrasound of the diaphragm may spot breathing trouble early in teens with chest deformity

NCT ID NCT06392984

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at 61 adolescents with pectus deformity (a common chest wall shape issue) to see if ultrasound measurements of diaphragm thickness could predict breathing problems before any symptoms appear. Researchers measured diaphragm thickness and lung function using a spirometer. The goal was to find an early warning sign for respiratory issues in these patients.
