First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at how the amount of air left in the lungs after breathing out affects diaphragm strength. Researchers will test 30 healthy people and ICU patients on ventilators to see if adjusting for lung volume gives more accurate strength measurements. The goal is to help doctors make better decisions about when patients can safely come off the ventilator.
