First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests a temporary device that stimulates the diaphragm (the main breathing muscle) in ICU patients on ventilators for severe lung failure. About 30 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or the stimulation plus standard care. The goal is to see if the device can be safely placed and used to help patients breathe more naturally and potentially recover faster.
