First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests a temporary device that stimulates the diaphragm muscle in patients on mechanical ventilators due to severe breathing failure. About 30 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard lung-protective ventilation alone or ventilation plus the diaphragm stimulation. The goal is to see if the device can be safely inserted and used to improve breathing recovery.
