Can a simple cord blood test predict eczema in babies?
NCT ID NCT07316465
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at whether certain self-reactive antibodies (IgE autoantibodies) are present at birth in babies with a family history of eczema, asthma, or hay fever. Researchers will test umbilical cord blood and follow the babies for two years to see if these antibodies are linked to developing eczema. The goal is to better understand how and when these antibodies form, which could help predict or prevent eczema in the future.
