Summary

This study tests a mobile app called Diactive-1 that provides personalized resistance training and education for children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes. Over 12 weeks, participants follow a tailored exercise program (like strength training or high-intensity intervals) and track their progress. The goal is to see if the app can improve handgrip strength and help with daily diabetes management, such as insulin use.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Diactive-1 mobile app with personalized resistance training program
What this could lead to
If successful, this app could become a standard tool to help young people with type 1 diabetes improve their fitness and better manage their condition.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial with only 158 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The app relies on user engagement, and adherence to the exercise program may be low.
