First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study compares two triple-drug combinations to achieve blood sugar control and diabetes remission in people newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. 240 participants aged 18-65 with high blood sugar (HbA1c ≥ 9%) will receive either an injectable or an oral medication, both combined with metformin and empagliflozin. After 6 months of treatment, those who reach normal blood sugar levels will stop all diabetes medications and be monitored for 3 months to see if remission is maintained.
