Summary
This study tested whether injections of a 15% dextrose (sugar) solution could help reduce shoulder pain and improve movement in people who have had a stroke. Forty participants, all of whom had stroke-related shoulder pain, received either the dextrose injections or placebo (saltwater) injections alongside standard physical therapy. Researchers measured changes in pain levels and shoulder mobility over three months to see if the dextrose treatment provided extra benefit.
