Nerve zap tech aims to give amputees a more natural hand feel

Summary
This study is testing whether temporarily implanting small electrodes in arm nerves can help people with hand or arm amputations control a prosthetic hand more naturally and feel sensations like touch. About 25 adults will have the electrodes placed for around 18 months. Researchers will measure how well participants can move a prosthetic hand and detect different sensations during the study.
