Summary
This study compares two sedatives—dexmedetomidine and midazolam—in very premature babies (born before 32 weeks) who need a breathing machine. The goal is to see if dexmedetomidine helps them come off the ventilator faster, reducing lung damage and side effects. About 380 babies will take part across multiple hospitals.
