This study tested whether adding melatonin to a standard sedative (dexmedetomidine) could lower the chance of post-operative delirium—sudden confusion and disorientation—after open brain surgery. 100 adults aged 30-60 with brain lesions or hematomas took part. Researchers measured delirium using standard scoring tools. The goal was to find a safer, more effective way to help patients recover clearly.
