New combo could cut steroid use in chemo side effect prevention
NCT ID NCT06331520
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether using less dexamethasone (a steroid) along with two other anti-nausea drugs (NEPA and olanzapine) works as well as the standard full-dose steroid regimen for preventing nausea and vomiting caused by strong chemotherapy. Over 600 adults receiving highly emetogenic chemotherapy took part. The goal was to see if the reduced-steroid approach could still keep patients free from vomiting and needing rescue medication.
