Knee replacement patients: which route for dexamethasone works best?

NCT ID NCT07180953

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at whether injecting the anti-inflammatory drug dexamethasone into a nerve block or into a vein works better for pain and swelling after total knee replacement. About 90 adults having knee surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. Researchers will track pain scores, how soon pain relief is needed, and inflammation through blood tests.
