Summary

This study tests whether a long-acting steroid called dexamethasone palmitate can prevent nausea and vomiting after open surgery better than the standard drug. About 500 adults having planned open surgery will receive the drug before their operation. The goal is to see if it reduces sickness in the first 24 hours after surgery with fewer side effects.
