Summary
This study tested whether a 3-day course of the oral steroid dexamethasone can reduce the severity of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in children aged 2 to 10. Ten children with moderate to severe OSA received either the drug or a placebo, and their breathing during sleep was measured before and after treatment. The goal was to see if the steroid could shrink swollen tonsils and adenoids enough to improve nighttime breathing.
