Smart pacifier uses Mom's voice to train preemie brains
NCT ID NCT06063122
Summary
This study is testing a new medical device designed to help hospitalized preterm babies better learn to tell different speech sounds apart. The device is a special pacifier that plays a recording of the baby's mother's voice only when the baby sucks on it. Researchers will measure brain activity in about 200 preterm infants to see if this interactive 'suck-to-hear' method works better than just playing the voice recording without the baby's control.
