First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested two common anesthesia gases, desflurane and sevoflurane, in 81 elderly patients (60+) having non-cardiac surgery. The goal was to see which one helps patients wake up and recover their thinking skills sooner after the operation. Researchers measured how quickly patients opened their eyes, followed commands, and were ready to leave the recovery room.
