NCT ID NCT05909735
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This early study tested whether a thin, clear membrane from the back of the cornea (Descemet's membrane) can be placed on the eye's surface to help it heal in people with limbal stem cell deficiency, a condition that can cause blindness. Nineteen adults with partial or total stem cell loss received the membrane as a patch. The main goals were to see if the graft stayed in place, improved vision, and was safe over six months.
