New nasal spray aims to rapidly lift depression and suicidal urges

Summary
This study tests an experimental nasal spray called (R)-Ketamine (PRT-042) to see if it can quickly reduce depression and suicidal thoughts in adults with major depressive disorder. About 98 participants will receive either the spray or a placebo, and researchers will measure changes in mood within 24 hours. The goal is to find a fast-acting treatment for people in urgent need.
