Antidepressant after broken bone may ward off depression in seniors

Summary
This study looks at whether giving older adults (65+) an antidepressant called duloxetine right after surgery for a broken leg can help prevent depression in the following year. About 100 people will take the medicine daily and be checked monthly with a depression screening. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and helpful for this group.
