Summary
This study looks at how a natural brain chemical called allopregnanolone affects depression in women going through menopause. Researchers will give a related substance (pregnenolone) to 80 healthy women aged 40-60 who have depressive symptoms. The goal is to understand the brain and behavior changes that may lead to depression during this life stage.
