Summary
This study looks at whether safely stopping unnecessary anticholinergic drugs (benztropine or trihexyphenidyl) can improve thinking, daily function, and quality of life in people aged 40-70 with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Participants will be randomly assigned to either continue their medication or gradually stop it under medical supervision, with brain scans and cognitive tests over 6 months. The goal is to see if reducing these drugs boosts brain connectivity and mental performance.
