New study tests if computer guidance helps new dentists place implants more accurately

NCT ID NCT06028750

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether a computer-guided navigation system helps new dentists place dental implants more accurately than doing it by hand. Sixty patients with missing teeth received implants placed by novice surgeons using either the X-Guide navigation system or the traditional freehand method. The researchers measured how close the final implant position matched the planned position using 3D scans.
