Scientists test which bone putty best prevents jaw shrinkage

NCT ID NCT05484492

Summary

This study compared two different bone graft materials used to preserve the jawbone after a tooth is pulled. Thirty patients had a tooth extracted, and doctors filled the socket with one of two putty-like graft materials to help the bone heal. After four months, they measured how well the jawbone was preserved and examined the quality of the new bone under a microscope to see which material worked better.
