Bone drug trial aims to stop precancer from turning deadly
NCT ID NCT03839459
Summary
This study tested whether denosumab, a medication that strengthens bones, could reduce the risk of smoldering multiple myeloma progressing to active cancer. Twenty adults with this precancerous condition received monthly injections for one year. Researchers monitored whether the treatment lowered participants' risk scores and delayed or prevented the development of full multiple myeloma.
