Researchers develop new approach to help dementia families accept supportive care
NCT ID NCT05942040
Summary
This study aimed to understand why seriously ill adults, particularly those with dementia, and their family caregivers might refuse community-based palliative care. Researchers developed informational materials to explain the benefits of this supportive care and tested whether using these materials in conversations increased acceptance rates. The pilot test involved Medicare Advantage plan members eligible for palliative care services.
