Study questions need for frequent colonoscopies after polyp removal
NCT ID NCT07328308
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at whether people who have had large polyps removed from their colon can safely wait longer for their next colonoscopy. Currently, patients get a colonoscopy at 6, 18, and 48 months after removal. This study tests a relaxed schedule of just 12 and 48 months. About 760 adults will take part to see if the relaxed schedule is just as good at catching any new polyps. If it works, it could mean fewer procedures and lower healthcare costs.
