Could some heart failure patients skip meds after surgery? new trial investigates
NCT ID NCT07572032
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether people with heart failure caused by a treatable problem (like a blocked artery or leaky valve) can safely wait 6 months before starting certain heart failure drugs, if their heart function improves after surgery or a procedure. About 80 adults whose hearts pump weakly before treatment will be randomly assigned to either start the drugs right away or wait 6 months. The goal is to see if delaying these medications is just as good for heart recovery and overall health.
