First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looked at using deep brain stimulation (DBS) in the lateral hypothalamic area to help with severe obesity. Three people who already had DBS electrodes placed in a previous study took part. The goal was to find the best stimulation settings to change their metabolic rate. This is a small, early-stage study focused on controlling the condition, not curing it.
